Discover the Felipe Pikullik Moonphase 2 Meteorite: A Masterpiece of Horological Artistry

The Felipe Pikullik Mondphase 2 Meteorite is the latest marvel from the Berlin-based watchmaker. Leaning into Pikullik’s core interests, in classical watchmaking and celestial complications, this is the second timepiece in the Mondphase series.

True to its namesake, the Mondphase 2 Meteorite features a dial crafted from meteorite, specifically the Gibeon meteorite. This example fell to Earth approximately 80 million years ago on the ancient continent of Laramidia, today the west coast of North America. This unique material adds more than a touch of cosmic history to the watch. The textured surface captures and reflects light in a visually stunning way, dancing on the dial from the patterns formed millions of years ago.

The heat-treated chapter ring and hands exhibit a striking blue-purple gradient, enhancing the open-worked gear system with exquisitely beveled edges. Hand-engraved details, including "Felipe Pikullik" and "In Berlin gefertigt," (Made in Berlin) provide a personal touch to each timepiece.

The prominent moonphase complication at 9 o'clock is a highlight of the Mondphase 2 Meteorite, adding a touch of celestial charm to the watch. This complication is designed and crafted in-house. With each Pikullik timepiece, the base movement is completely transformed, often with new bridges, balance cock, and of course, exquisite finishing including hand-engraving.

While the dial captures the attention of collectors, this timepiece is another representation of Pikullik’s commitment to traditional watchmaking techniques, especially in finishing. The Mondphase 2 Meteorite showcases advanced beveling techniques, with the most challenging aspect being the intermediate beveling within a single bridge, creating the illusion of two distinct parts. The highly skeletonized movement features stunning sandblasted black rhodium-plated bridges that contrast beautifully with the mirror-polished beveling, highlighting the artistry and innovation of Felipe Pikullik's craftsmanship.

The Felipe Pikullik Mondphase 2 Meteorite is another wonderful addition to his growing catalog and a testament to the watchmaker’s willingness to elevate to the next level with each timepiece.
